Ria Crissinger, LCMHCA

I approach therapy with curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person’s unique experience. I encourage those I work with to extend compassion to themselves as well—knowing that while therapy can be difficult, it can also be exceptionally rewarding.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic models, which often focus on uncovering thoughts, feelings, and past experiences to understand their influence on present patterns and relationships. With these purposes in mind, I may include elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also integrate techniques from other evidence-based approaches to best support each person’s needs and goals.
I work with adults and couples. My experience includes supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, neurodivergence, identity questions, and personality challenges. I also have an interest in helping individuals process religious trauma—painful or confusing experiences that can happen within faith-based environments.
In couples therapy, I enjoy collaborating with partners to help them reconnect and strengthen their relationship. I appreciate both the great joy and deep distress that can come over the duration of a committed relationship. I often incorporate the Gottman Method to support couples in navigating these complexities.
